The activity was supposed to last an hour, but in the end we stayed there for three hours. We had a great time, and between making the chopsticks and chatting, the time flew by without us even realizing it. It was really nice to go through all the steps that led to the creation of our wands, from cutting the wood to the final engraving. There were only a few of us, which is very rare in a Japan overrun with tourists. We highly recommend it to everyone.

We had such an amazing time with Shino at Way of Hashi! The experience was so engaging and educational. We had tons of fun learning about the different kinds of wood, shaving and buffering techniques, and she helped us decide what engravings we should etch on our chopsticks. Shino was also such a fun and down to earth instructor. We talked about music, art and Japanese culture while making our chopsticks. I wanted to learn more about Japanese writing and she gave me a mini lesson on the Japanese language and spelling. We even practiced writing so that I’d feel more confident etching words on my chopsticks. Honestly this was by far one of the top highlights of our trip to Japan and I’m so grateful for the experience. I’ve already passed along the booking info to friends and family. Would 10000% recommend this experience!!

A pleasant experience, guided by a very charming and very competent lady (who speaks English and Japanese) named Harumi. Beyond the price (which is still very affordable), you will have a pleasant experience that can relax you and surprise you. There is the possibility of writing her first name in Japanese. It needs to be redone because, when the wooden sticks were offered, there were several choices but only one could be made.

Shino is a funny person and great teacher and we had a super interesting conversatiom about Japan and life in general while planing, sanding, decorating and oiling our chopsticks. We came here to make our own chopsticks and honestly had so much fun doing it. The whole place is super clean, beautifully designed and the workshop itself was really well organized.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helped us throughout the whole process – especially with the Japanese characters we wanted to add and burn into our chopsticks. 🙌
You end up with your own handmade pair of chopsticks and a pretty unique souvenir from Japan. Definitely something different from the usual sightseeing and absolutely worth doing! 🥢✨

This was an absolutely amazing experience! We were taught the wood types and the uses so we could select the specific woods for our chopsticks. Loved shaving, sanding, engraving and waxing our sticks as well. Shino was so fun and engaging. Great energy all around! Loved our session with her and would definitely recommend!
